Could Now Be The Time To Invest In A Career Coach?

As we navigate the third year of the pandemic, it can feel natural to put professional development goals to one side in order to maintain our stamina to get through the day and it’s okay if we need this. If you have yet to reflect on your professional goals and aspirations, think about whether this is the time to invest in a career coach – and invest in yourself.
Whether you’re looking to make a significant career change, taking on a new promotion, navigating burnout, feeling overwhelmed with ever increasing priorities or simply unchallenged, a career coach can give you direction and help you move towards your desired change.
“I have benefited significantly from my coaching sessions with Caroline. Being new to coaching, Caroline clearly explained the process and reaffirmed this throughout the sessions. The constructive challenge Caroline gave allowed me to think differently about my view points and concerns. This has developed my thinking and I now address situations in a more thoughtful manner, looking at the different paradigms that are playing a role in mine and others decisions. Caroline’s professionalism and warm personality produced an open and safe environment, this atmosphere was the reason for the successful sessions. I will not hesitate to use Caroline again in the future, when I need clarity of thought to make career and life decisions”. Frances H
If you are thinking about working with a career coach, you may wish to consider the following:
- Are we a good fit?
It’s crucial to have the right fit with your coach. Many professional coaches, myself included, offer a free ‘chemistry’ session as a first meeting to discuss what you are hoping to achieve through coaching; to clarify the process, any questions you have and see how we might be able to work together. - Stay committed and consistent:
Once you find the right coach, dedicate yourself to the experience. I encourage you to stay committed to the coaching process. That means showing up for sessions, taking your own notes where appropriate, and keeping any agreements made during the sessions. - Be open to the potential of coaching:
This means contributing to conversations honestly and openly. The strength and power of coaching relates directly to the level of openness and trust in the relationship. The more you are brave, courageous and prepared to deep dive into getting what you truly desire, the more you will gain from the coaching journey. - To find out more:
